MOZAMBIQUE | Cuamba | 40MWp | In Development

Alten Energías Renovables is developing a 40 MWp PV plant in the Mozambican city of Cuamba, with an investment of around US$ 45 million, which has been named Niassa Solar.

The project’s shareholders are Energia de Mozambique|EDM, two local Mozambican companies and Alten Energías Renovables which is leading the consortium.

The project has reached the stage of negotiating the PPA with the authorities, with financing expected to be complete by the end of 2020.

The Niassa Solar PV Plant, lying 3.5 km from Cuamba, will have 117,180 PV modules of 330 Wp each, and single-axis trackers. This PV Plant will produce 79,602 MWh a year, equivalent to the annual consumption of 166,000 homes.
