Alten is developing a Stand Alone BESS portfolio in the South of Italy with a total of 2,017 MW / 8,875 MWh.
Iti s important to mention that the regions where the projects are located have or will have strong.
It is important to highlight that the areas where all the projects are located are areas where numerous generation projects already exist or are projected, which is positive for
the development of energy storage projects.
Cluster Banzi (958 MW) | Banzi II (200,5 MW), Banzi III (252,4 MW), Banzi IV (252,4 MW) and Banzi V (252,4 MW) projects
A cluster of projects located in the Basilicata Region, in the South of Italy, with a total capacity of 958 MW and a 4-hour duration. The projects are at an advanced stage of development and are expected to obtain the Ministerial Single Authorization (AU) in Q1 2027.
All projects have land agreements duly executed before a Notary, and grid connection has been secured. The projects are currently in the Conferenza dei Servizi (Services Conference) phase.
Regarding grid connection, the STMG has already been obtained, the PTO has been signed, and Terna has granted its approval (benestare) for the grid connection works. It is very important to highlight that the substation where the four projects will be connected, located approximately 5 km away, is an existing and fully operational substation.
Cluster Oppidos (554 MW) | Banzi I (198 MW), Banzi VI (116 MW), Banzi VII (141 MW) and Banzi VIII (99 MW) projects
A cluster of projects located in the Basilicata Region, in southern Italy, with a total capacity of 554 MW and a 4-hour duration. The cluster applied for the Single Authorization (AU) in Q2 2026.
All projects have land agreements duly executed before a Notary, and grid connection has been secured.
Regarding grid connection, the STMG has already been obtained for a new substation to be built by Terna. Work is currently underway to obtain Terna’s approval (Benestare) for the substation.
Cluster San Mauro Forte (307 MW) | San Mauro Forte I (168,3 MW) y San Mauro Forte II o IV (138,6 MW) projects

A cluster of projects located in the Basilicata Region, in southern Italy, with a total capacity of 307 MW and a 4-hour duration.
All projects have land agreements signed, and grid connection has been secured.
Regarding grid connection, the STMG has already been obtained for a new substation to be built by Terna. The new substation has already obtained Terna’s approval (Benestare).
Sabatini (198 MW)
A project that connects to the same substation as the Oppido cluster and is at an early stage of development, with land agreements duly executed before a Notary and grid connection already secured. The project is expected to apply for the Regional Single Authorization (AU) during Q4
2026.
